A beautiful little vanity mirror, ideal for displaying on a dressing table. Heavy bevelled glass on a wooden easel back, standing on ball feet.

Barbola refers to the floral decoration framing the mirror. It is made from gesso – a type of plaster or paste which is modelled into the design and handpainted. Very popular in the 20’s and 30’s; it was often sold in kits for women to make at home.

Gesso is fragile and susceptible to damage so it is rare to find one of these without some cracks and chips. However, please study the photos to make sure you are happy with the condition.

Mirror is 20cm diameter, the Barbola flowers are 4cm high

Adorn Vintage

Adorn Vintage celebrates all aspects of the vintage lifestyle from fashion to home and garden. I love pattern, colour and texture with an emphasis on the decorative and unusual.

A lifetime of collecting led me to doing my first vintage fair in 2007 then in 2009 I joined the newly opened Space Vintage store in Harrogate where I sell an eclectic mix of clothing, accessories, textiles and homewares.

If you like to seek out something a little bit different for your home or wardrobe, I hope you’ll find it among my wonderful collection of vintage and antique finds.

Shipping Policy

I aim to post within 2 working days though with the current COVID-19 situation this may be longer as I’m trying to limit trips out, your patience is appreciated in this matter.

In order to minimise waste I recycle packaging where possible. Please be assured that your items will still be packaged with the utmost care even if they’re in a cereal box!

Refund Policy

I try to describe my items as accurately as possible; noting any wear or damage.  Please study the photos carefully as these form part of the description.

I consider myself an enthusiast rather than an expert and am bound to get things wrong occasionally eg the date of an item. There is never any intention to mislead.
As a lover of vintage I find it easy to overlook minor flaws; often considering them part and parcel of an item which has had a previous life and been used and loved. Indeed, in some cases these flaws make an item more desirable.
If you are not sure about anything, please get in touch, I’d rather you were sure than have a disappointed customer!
